CHARACTER
Name: Charlotte Aulin
Canon: Castlevania
Age: 16
Timeline: Taken from the end of Portrait of Ruin, just after Wind's final departure. TL;DR heading home.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality: Charlotte is not your average sixteen year old girl. She's a genius in her own right, the Church who employs her have come to realize that she is a genius. This is mostly because she studies almost constantly -- whether it be your normal subjects such as math and science, or your not so 'normal' things, say, magic. She is a gifted witch and has been since the time she was small, and she's not above letting everyone know it, either. That said, it goes without saying that she's extremely confident in both her book smarts and her magic, to the point where she can be overly confident, which could lead to some serious trouble, were she up against the wrong opponent.

This also leads, naturally, to a lack of friends; it's true that she does not make friends very easily because her personality can be a little strong for most (at home the only known friend she really has is her partner Jonathan, and she beats up on him a lot, too), but the friends she does make, she'll protect them with her very life. She's loyal to a fault, and will act recklessly if her friends or colleagues are in immediate danger. For the most part, even during battle, she is calm, cool, confident and collected, and will hold herself together until the very end. Things do, however, tend to upset her... namely, if she is called a child or if her skills and intelligence are being insulted or called out.

She IS quick to anger, and when she's angry she can act out violently to whoever the poor soul is she's upset with. A quick smack to the arm, a heavy spell book upside the head, maybe just a simple tongue lashing -- she'll prove her point one way or another. Even with her little bouts of anger, generally she is a friendly person, so long as people are friendly in return... if they are rude, off goes her temper. She can't stand anyone or anything that would want to cause harm or do evil deeds, either, and if anyone tries to do anything bad she'll be the first one on the scene trying to stop them.

She's also extremely cautious around anything supernatural -- she's had her fair share of vampires, demons, werewolves and ghosts, she knows her way around them and will deal with them if she has to. That isn't to say she'll automatically attack them; if they don't prove harmful or violent, she is willing to let them go... but she'll keep a close watch over them. Always. It wouldn't be impossible for her to make an alliance with some supernatural/undead beings, of course, or even end up being friends with them eventually.

Even as quick to anger as she is, and as mature and serious as she tries to be, Charlotte can be derailed just as easily into acting out immaturely or being a little on the immature side period. This is seen when she is teased by her partner, Jonathan, for the most part, or even by the monk Vincent who had helped them out in Castlevania. She absolutely ADORES compliments, too, especially if she's around Jonathan. When Vincent accidentally called her a child in the Castle and angered her, he quickly fixed it by calling her a lovely young lady. Charlotte's immediate response was to boast to Jonathan.

"Did you hear that, Jonathan? He called me l-o-v-e-l-y!"

It went on deaf ears, though, which angered her again, but nothing was really said about it again. It sure didn't stop her from glaring, though.

In addition, Charlotte enjoys sticking her nose in other people's business. It's not that she's one for gossip, not that she won't listen to THAT either, but she does enjoy getting the scoop on every one and every thing. She can't help herself, it's just a bad habit that formed long ago that doesn't seem to be going away any time soon.

Abilities: Charlotte possesses many magical abilities. She carries with her at all times a heavy tome known as the Book of Binding. The Book of Binding allows her to acquire magic and spells via the book -- it will quite literally suck them from her enemies upon their defeat, the words and inscriptions appearing on the pages for her personal use. Her spells range from casting fire, to healing, to actually turning herself into an owl or a frog and being able to turn another person into a frog, too. She's also able to bring herself and another person into enchanted portraits, and she has a spell known as Sanctuary that can actually reverse vampirism.

She can also perform what are known as 'Dual Crashes' with her partner Jonathan. Holy Lightening [A lightening attack, naturally, with holy properties], Grand Cross [Another holy attack] -- there's a whole slew of them.

http://castlevania.wikia.com/wiki/Dual_Crush This is a list of attacks and spells that she can use with Jonathan.

First Person: [ The feed over the watches clicks on to reveal an extremely annoyed Charlotte. Her left leg is crossed over the other, and she's drumming her fingers irritably against her large spellbook, and from the looks of it, she is in the library. She's surrounded by books of all different sizes; no doubt she's snooping for information on this mysterious city, their captors, and the monsters that dwell within it.

She heaves a sigh, closing her eyes for a moment. She's not one to ask for help usually, because she never really needs it -- but this is different. Jonathan is not here [which, for now, she's going to count as a blessing in disguise], not that she would have asked him for help to begin with, but at least he is someone she knows she can trust and count on, even if he's a little on the reckless side for the most part.

As a matter of fact, if he were here... no.

Her eyes open, and she finally speaks. ]
Alright, then. I'm new here, and I'm a little lost and in need of any and all information I can get. I've heard some of you talk about monsters and even vampires... so I would be grateful if you all would be so kind as to tell me everything you know. Thank you.

[ With that, and a tiny smile, the feed ends. ]

Third Person: When she'd first arrived, Charlotte had honestly thought she'd been thrust back into the castle... or worse yet, they'd never left the castle to begin with; that this was just some huge, grand illusion one of the succubi had dreamed up to trap them in. As she had found out, however, that was not the case. This really was a city, and every single person here seemed to truly be from different worlds; universes, and eras.

It wasn't as strange to her as it could have been, though. Things so far had seemed fairly tame, considering the dark halls and hellish beasts she'd just finished facing. After defeating countless demons, four vampires and Death itself, whilst saving two souls and reversing the vampiric curse that had been placed on them and setting another trapped soul free, helping Jonathan unlock the true power of the Vampire Killer Whip and finally tackle both Brauner and Dracula all in the same night? This was a walk in the park.

Her one and only concern was, naturally, how things were going to be at home. She'd been told that time would technically stop, something that was a little mind boggling, even for someone such as herself; that once their captors were done playing and toying with them, they'd eventually be sent back to their respective worlds and times and they wouldn't remember any of this. It would be like it never happened... but how could they be so sure? Only time would tell, she supposed.

Replacing the books she'd borrowed from the library and pocketing her watch, the young mage stood up and gathered the one book that did belong to her, and she clutched it to her chest with one arm as she began to make her way out and back onto the streets once more. The least she could do was get herself acquainted with the people and places here -- who knew, maybe she could even figure out a way to help everyone get home. In due time, of course.

With that thought in mind, Charlotte smiled, energy pumping through her veins once more as she walked along the sidewalk. Things were going to be alright here.
